I trust this letter finds you and your family prospering in our Lord Jesus Christ. These have been good months for Danielle and I — and Capitol Ministries.
The ministry to our country’s leaders in Washington D.C. continues to mature and expand in influence. We are presently gearing up to add additional Congressional Sponsors to this ministry (inviting the new freshman). We hope to add around 15 new Members. In addition the Lord continues to expand our ministry into more and more state capitols. Pray especially for our push into the New England states. Our objective is to start new ministries in all the New England state capitols simultaneously in January 2014. This is a daunting task and between session weeks in DC, Danielle and I have spent much time in New England working on this. As you know this is an area of hard soil and so we hope to create a fraternity of ministry leaders in that area whom we can train and congeal together.
Other target states we are working on, and you can pray for are Wisconsin, Montana, Washington state, Mississippi and Alabama.
As you know, this past year we were able to plant new ministries in New Mexico, South Carolina and New York. Those works have been very encouraging: One of our new ministry leaders has led two legislators to Christ since beginning there in January! We praise God for what He is doing!
Perry Gauthier, our ministry leader in Nebraska, illustrates another example of the effectiveness of the ministry. He has approximately 25% of the Unicameral in his weekly Bible study. The Members recently debated Capital Punishment on the floor and asked Perry beforehand to prepare an extensive biblical exposition on the subject.
There are many other stories like these that I could share that are so encouraging regarding the perspicuity and power of God honoring our ministries’ exegesis of the Word of God. Please consider supporting our ministry financially especially as we ponder founding ministries in the 3,000 county and 30,000 city halls of America in the days and years ahead. We need more partners like you!
Yours for fulfilling the Capitol Commission to Public Servants,
