Capitol Ministries has recently begun to translate into French, Spanish, and Russian the Members Bible Studies that are given weekly to United States Senators and Representatives in the Washington, D.C. Capitol.
The translations are being done so that Ministry Leaders around the globe who are providing discipleship Bible studies to their nation’s leaders may use the studies in their native languages in their ministries.
Among those international Ministry Leaders is Pastor Raymond Koffi of Cameroun, Africa.
Pastor Koffi is the co-host of The Christian Broadcasting Network’s (CBN’s) “Le Club 700” television show, the French equivalent of “The 700 Club” program which is hosted in the U.S. by Pat Robertson.
“Le Club 700” is aired on television in French-speaking African nations, in Europe, and the Caribbean and is broadcast around the world via the Internet. Pastor Koffi is also a Pastor and member of the Leadership Team at The Christian Missionary Fellowship International Church.
In a recent interview, Pastor Koffi talked about how the Bible studies translated into French would benefit his ministry. Here is some of what he said:
“With my position in my country as pastor, and the co-host of “Le Club 700”, I have been privileged to meet with some of my country’s leaders; I have been in contact with many of them, but mostly it is, ‘Hello, how are you doing?’ or, ‘Please pray for me.’
“What Capitol Ministries offers is much more serious and deep, so I will have something of substance to approach the members of Parliament with.
“It is my desire to have a formal Bible study eventually, which I will teach in the French language. This will create an interest among the members of Parliament. We will be able to talk about the life of Christ and the Christian walk of faith.
“Africa is different. Being in power in Africa is like someone has arrived. Sometimes there is too much pride, and some feel they need to be in power in order to be important, but that is a lie from Hell. That is bondage.
“The leaders need to know that they don’t need to be in power to be important, you just need to be yourself and know that God loves you just as you are. Our leaders need people who can bring the Truth to them from the Bible. With God, this is what I will do.”
