Join Us as We Obey God’s Command to Reach Leaders of Nations!
As an affinity group, political leaders are hugely overlooked by churches, the religious right, and many para church organizations.
Because they embrace the general and misguided thinking that culture can be transformed by changing laws and political policies, these organizations concentrate primarily on lobbying legislators for laws that reflect biblical values.
Certainly, such laws are important, but God’s Word shows that as a primary approach the lobbying-for-better-laws methodology is flawed.
God’s Word says that “protos” – or first in importance – is reaching political leaders with the Word of God.
”First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.” (1 Timothy 1:1-2)
“You can’t expect someone who rejects the Author of Scripture to accept the precepts of His Book,” said Ralph Drollinger, President and Founder of Capitol Ministries.
The theology behind Capitol Ministries was taught by Drollinger during sessions at the International Training Conference in December, held at the Museum of the Bible in the heart of Washington, D.C.
Nearly 100 Ministry Leaders who traveled from 31 nations and 14 U.S. States to attend the week-long conference heard presentations on many topics including Capitol Ministries’ biblical mandate and theology – why we do what we do.
“God has honored this ministry not because of who we are or what we have done, but because we have been faithful to preach His Word,” Drollinger said.
“What God blesses is His Word. We need to regularly be expositing Scripture to the leaders of nations.”
To do that, Capitol Ministries plants intentional, biblically reliant discipleship Bible teachers in national capitals across the world.
“The big picture of Capitol Ministries is to eventually be taking the Word of God to every elected official every week, in every country of the world,” Drollinger said. “This will take persistence; this will require dedication; this will require consistently drilling down to exposit the whole purpose of God.”
The biblical mandate that drives Capitol Ministries is found in Acts 9:15 where God tells Ananias to heal the eyes of Saul, who would be re-named Paul for his ministry:
“Go, for he is a chosen instrument of Mine, to bear My name before the Gentiles and kings and the sons of Israel.”
Tucked between the macro groups of “Gentiles” and “sons of Israel” that Paul is to reach is “kings,” the leaders of nations.
The priorities – protos, or first in importance – has been made clear for Paul’s ministry.
“Knowing that, will I use a man-centered approach to political change or a God-centered approach?” Drollinger asked.
“Paul’s missiological intent is to reach political leaders by establishing ministries in capital cities – the places of political and cultural influence – in the nations of the world.
“We plant Bible teachers in capitols to expound the Word of God, to unleash the power of the Word of God, to bring about heart change through the Holy Spirit, to create a magnetism in the capital for God to use to right a nation.”
