The state and national leaders of tomorrow are working in the city halls and county commission chambers of small-town America today. That is what studies show, and that is why Capitol Ministries® is committed to creating discipleship ministries to leaders in the 40,000 incorporated neighborhoods across the United States.
We employ a methodology that has been successful in creating Bible studies in U.S. states, Washington, D.C., and foreign federal capitols since 1996. Through networking and searches, we recruit Bible teachers with the hearts of evangelists to lead the studies and we partner them with Christian lawmakers who sponsor them. To avoid violating open meeting laws, which prohibit a quorum of lawmakers from gathering together outside of commission chambers, these local studies are attended by leaders from several neighboring communities.
The curriculum for Local Government Ministries is Oaks in Office; Biblical Essays for Political Leaders, Ralph Drollinger’s latest book that is written specifically to meet the personal and professional needs of Public Servants. This four-volume tome contains 52 of the best Bible studies from among hundreds that Ralph has written for political leaders over his many years in ministry. Averaging eight pages long and one for every week of the year, the studies build upon one another to take the Public Servant on an increasing faith journey through the Old and New Testaments. Comprehensive and thorough, these Bible studies help the political leader come to Christ, develop in personal holiness, construct a biblical foundation, form a Christian world view, and increase in faith.
Local government groups are studying Oaks in Office in Sacramento, California, where Capitol Ministries® began in 1996, as well as in numerous neighborhoods in the Soviet Bloc nation of Ukraine where Oaks in Office has been translated into Russian.
It is our prayer that discipleship Bible studies be planted to the 510,000 local appointed and elected officials in the United States as well as to their peers in foreign nations across the world.
