Trump Senior Advisor Extols The Work of CapMin
Former Trump Senior Advisor Brooke Rollins last week lauded Capitol Ministries’ “extraordinary” work of connecting God’s Word to the policy making process in Washington, D.C. [WATCH]
Mrs. Rollins was a speaker at the 49th annual American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) meeting that was attended by hundreds of conservative state legislators in Atlanta, Georgia last week.
“Ralph and Danielle Drollinger are two of the greatest patriots who love God, love this country and who, perhaps, have done more to keep the spirit of God and the Bible and Scriptures and Christ in our Washington Capitol,” she said.
President Donald Trump appointed Mrs. Rollins as acting director of U.S. Domestic Policy. Prior to that, she served as the president’s advisor for Inter-Governmental Affairs and Technology Initiatives and as a member of the American Office of Innovation. She is currently president and CEO of America First Policy Institute.
ALEC is America’s largest nonpartisan, voluntary membership organization of state legislators who are dedicated to the principles of limited government, free markets, and federalism.
“If you are not already working with Ralph and Danielle, I could not give them a higher endorsement for the work that they do and the mission they bring that moves in joy into the policy making process through the connection that Ralph and Danielle are able to make through Scripture. God bless you and thank you for that extraordinary work.”
Mrs. Rollins’ remarks came shortly after Drollinger gave the plenary luncheon prayer asking God’s guidance in increasing discipleship Bible studies to public servants across America.
“Your Word says as a man ‘thinketh in his heart so he is.’ Or better, right actions begin with right thinking and right thinking begins with thinking right about God,” Drollinger prayed.
“May we have Bible teachers not only in state capitols but in our city and county governments. We have 40,000 incorporated cities, only You can put Your Bible teachers in those locations, so we beseech You, for such a goal as that is bigger than we could accomplish.
“We look to You and partnership with people in this room to achieve that so that we have right thinking which leads to right policy it is to that end that we strive and labor and we thank You for the ability to do that. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
In addition to Ralph Drollinger, president and founder of CapMin, and his wife, Danielle Drollinger, a contingent of CapMin directors and their wives participated in the conference. They are: International Director Brian Hanson and Mandi; North America Director Brian Solomon and Naomi, Oklahoma and Arkansas ministry leader Cheyne Day and Misty. Pastors Hanson and Solomon also co-lead the ministry to Ohio legislators.
The team manned the large CapMin booth, met and talked with legislators from all over the country and distributed ministry publications that explain our mission. Legislators were also able to sign up at the booth for copies of the soon-to-be published books, All in Authority, and an updated and expanded edition of Oaks in Office.
On Friday, Sonny Perdue, chancellor of the University System of Georgia’s 26 higher education institutions, spoke at an ALEC/CapMin-sponsored morning devotional. Chancellor Perdue and Brooke Rollins participate in the ongoing Bible study that Drollinger leads to former White House Cabinet and senior staff that CapMin began when President Trump was in office. That study is held weekly via the internet.
Chancellor Perdue is also former secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and former governor of Georgia.
Chancellor Perdue told the 50 legislators who attended the devotional how important the Bible study had been to him when he was in office and how crucial it continues to be to him today. He acknowledged the reality of intense spiritual warfare occurring all around us. He encouraged lawmakers in the Word of God to make policies and live their lives in a way that would show they are walking with Jesus (as did Peter and John in the book of Acts). He explained that the only way to do this was to faithfully study the Word of God.
Also at the morning devotional, Drollinger explained the CapMin mission to create disciples of Jesus Christ in the political arena throughout the world. He invited legislators to participate in the discipleship Bible study in their capitol or, if a Bible study did not yet exist, to sponsor one. Pastor Hanson closed the morning devotional with an invitation to accept Christ.
CapMin has participated in ALEC conferences since the ministry was established in 1996.
“Back then our vision of “50 ministries in 50 capitols” was a new concept,” Drollinger said. “Only about a half dozen capitols had Bible-teaching, disciple-making ministries.”
Since then, CapMin has established ministries in 43 state capitols, in Washington, D.C. and ministries to local leaders in communities in eight states. Ministries have also been launched at all levels of government in more than 40 nations.
At this conference, the CapMin team concurred that the legislator’s response to the ministry and our mission was tremendous.
Conversations and meetings with various state legislators have resulted in progress to launch or strengthen ministries in Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, and Virginia.
Capitol Ministries requests that our prayer partners and supporters pray for these discipleship Bible studies, for the ministry leaders and legislators who will launch them, and that many who do not know God will come to the truth through the establishment and sustainment of these ministries.
“Given the magnificent response at ALEC this past week, it is a given—and the ALEC legislators are all in—there is an increasing need for what we do!” Drollinger said.
“But that awareness has taken decades to achieve. I attribute that to both the perseverance of CapMin and our promulgation of the vision, but also the increasing need for God’s Word to be regularly taught to public servants, given the downward trajectory of America.”
