Logos Bible Software Helps African Ministry Leader Deliver “Theologically Sound” Bible studies to Political Leaders
Rev. Chilekwa Mulenga is among the first pastors in Africa to benefit from the Logos Bible Software that we provided to Bible teachers who have established CapMin discipleship ministries around the world.
“I write as a beneficiary with gratitude for the Logos Bible Software courtesy of CapMin,” Rev. Chilekwa wrote to Jon Cassel, CapMin’s Africa Director. “I remain thankful that I was among the earliest CapMin African leaders to fully install LBS on my laptop.”
“Logos Bible Software is a great resource every Christian leader and disciple maker needs by their side. I have greatly benefited from Logos as a CapMin leader in Zambia as I get to teach and counsel elected officials, especially at the local government level.”
Capitol Ministries has planted discipleship Bible-study based ministries in 60 nations with a long-term goal of 200 ministries in 200 countries.
Some of the ministries are in remote locations and so, through a partnership with Logos Bible Software, we have provided the world-renowned library to state and federal ministry leaders around the world. International ministry leaders receive Logos version 10 which has a built-in translation feature with 110 languages.
With a computer and internet service, Bible teachers anywhere in the world have access to a biblically sound 350-book integrated library that contains hundreds of the best publications in Christian theology – books, journals, commentaries, and other resources. This product, which is valued at $2,400, is provided to ministry leaders at no cost.
Ministry leaders who lead Bible studies for local city, county, and provincial government public servants are teaching Bible studies from CapMin’s book, Oaks in Office: Bible Essays for Political Leaders. LGM Bible teachers must have first established a fruit bearing ministry before they are eligible for Logos. Ministry leaders in the United States are equipped with earlier versions of Logos and are not eligible for the upgraded translation version at this time.
Rev. Chilekwa, affectionately known as “Chile,” is part of a three-man team appointed in 2019 by Ralph Drollinger, President and Founder of CapMin, to establish ministries at all levels of government in the African nation of Zambia.
In addition to leading Bible studies to political leaders, the men also serve CapMin in administrative roles in CapMin Zambia as they work together to establish discipleship ministries throughout their nation.
Rev. Chilekwa is the administrative director, Pastor Aaron Mulenga (no relation to Pastor Chilekwa), is the executive director, and Pastor Bruce Chitambala is the director of programs and operations.
The 2019 launch of CapMin Zambia was a festive event before a gathering of 70 people, including many political leaders, that was televised to the nation’s 17 million citizens. Participating in the event were Brian Hanson, Capitol Ministries International Director, Jon Cassel, Capitol Ministries Global Director for Africa, and Obi Onwuzurumba, Capitol Ministries Director for English-speaking African nations who helped organize the festivities.
Rev. Chilekwa said being able to access biblically sound books and resources has been a tremendous benefit to his teaching. The word search in particular has enabled him to prepare a Bible study on any topic.
“I am eternally grateful to CapMin President Ralph Drollinger and the Board of Directors and our hard-working CapMin international leaders who are so caring and supporting in ensuring we had access to this great resource, Logos Bible Software. This package has contributed toward making me more theologically sound. I thank you.”
