I support Capitol Ministries because there is no better place to be spreading the word of God than among legislators and leaders in government. Government has a real hard time with wisdom and if we want our leaders to make wise choices, they need to have wisdom from the Lord. True wisdom comes from the Lord. Capitol Ministries has planted Bible studies in numerous state Capitols already. If the nation was covered with discipleship Bible studies, those seeds would take root, and imagine the fruit we would see.

“Is America a faith-based nation today? I think there is a debate about that because America has turned her back on her first true love. That is why in-depth Bible studies are so important for leaders at all levels. Capitol Ministries helps lawmakers relate Scripture to today’s issues.

“What does Scripture teach about capitalism—that’s a biblical principle. One of the 10 Commandments says, ‘thou shall not covet.’ How can you covet something if it doesn’t belong to someone else? You will also find in Genesis 35 where God demonstrated land ownership when He said to Jacob, your name shall be Israel and this land is yours.

“What does Scripture say about being pro-life? What does Scripture say about spending money you don’t have—all of these issues are important ones that lawmakers grapple with and they’re all spelled out in Scripture.

A few weeks ago, members of our Hillsboro Bible study began discussing when life begins. To teach them the biblical perspective, I gave the members copies of “God’s View of Babies Inside and Outside the Womb” which was written by Ralph Drollinger, President and Founder of Capitol Ministries who leads Bible studies to U.S. senators and representatives every week on the Hill in Washington, D.C. Among many Scriptures quoted in the study was Psalm 139:13: For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb.

This verse points out that God is at work in the formation of the baby inside the womb, thus, life begins at the point of conception.

The next week one of the members of the Bible study reported that a voter had called to ask his position on this issue.

The candidate was equipped to share confidently his prolife stance as a result of the Bible study materials and our discussion.

Capitol Ministries Bible studies are helping upcoming leaders learn the Word of God in a way that brings out its applicability to our modern lives.

I am continuingly impressed by the applicability of God’s Word to our present time.
