Capitol Ministries’ new expanded mission: Reaching Local Government Leaders for Christ
October 2014
Numerous scriptures demonstrate the great priority that the Bible places on followers of Christ to reach Kings and Government Leaders with the Gospel.
It is on this biblical authority that Capitol Ministries’ bases its mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ in the political arena throughout the world.
And so to further that mission, a new series of videos will be produced during the Fall Ministry Leader’s Training Conference in November that are designed to help local churches create effective biblical ministries to reach their local city and county government leaders with the Gospel.
“There are over 3,000 counties and 30,000 incorporated cities in the United States,” said Ralph Drollinger, President and Founder of Capitol Ministries. “Can you imagine the impact on our nation if each of those locales had an effective, biblical ministry of evangelism and discipleship in their midst?”
In order to help and encourage local churches and pastors to create biblical ministries to local leaders, The Capitol Ministries Board of Directors has directed that the video training series be available free of charge.
Years ago ministries were planted on local high school and college campuses by local churches that understood their eternal importance. The ministries bore much fruit and benefited the churches as well as the individuals who were saved by the power of the Cross.
“We believe local churches will benefit from starting ministries on government campuses as well — to say nothing of the eternal destiny of the leader, nor the long-term effect such will have on our nation’s future!” Drollinger said. “A vast majority of federal public servants got their start in local city and county government.”
Additionally, most of the mature-in-Christ professional athletes were won to Christ through high school sports ministries.
“What Capitol Ministries is talking about here is no different,” Drollinger said. “In order to change America we need biblical ministries reaching Public Servants during their formative years in office. Local churches must catch this vision!”
The Religious Right movement placed an emphasis on the church changing civil laws, but after 40 years this ineffective effort has not altered America’s trajectory in the least, Drollinger pointed out.
“It is time to try something new, something that happens to be biblical,” he said. “Let us put an emphasis on changing the hearts of our political leaders through ministries of evangelism and discipleship via teaching the Word of God on their campuses!”
The new video training series will be released in the Spring of 2015. Watch for more information and tell a friend.
