Sharing the Gospel with the World’s Leaders: New Ministries Birthed at CM Conference
“You are ambassadors of Jesus Christ. Create a lighthouse unto your nations’ capitols and let God draw all men toward Himself.”
That is what Ralph Drollinger, President and Founder of Capitol Ministries told the 80-some men and women who had traveled from around the globe to attend the 2017 Annual Training Conference in Washington, D.C. this week.
They gathered in the spectacular Museum of the Bible (MOTB), a 430,000-square foot building that sits two blocks from the National Mall and three blocks from the Capitol. The conference was held in a MOTB theater-styled auditorium steps away from the collections and exhibits that provided experiential encounters with biblical past.
CM’s seven Global Regional Directors, Ministry Leaders, husband and wife ministry teams, and Ministry Leader candidates spent the week learning various aspects of creating and sustaining discipleship ministries to political leaders.
Several members of President Donald Trump’s White House Cabinet, U.S. Senators, and Representatives spoke at the event.
Foreign dignitaries and political leaders from other nations also attended and spoke at the conference.
Speakers also included established Ministry Leaders and national Capitol Ministries leadership.
One of Capitol Ministries’ objective is to create 200 ministries in 200 foreign federal capitols in our mission to fulfill the Great Commission.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you.” Matthew 28:16-20
As a result of the training, several new ministries will be established in foreign nations next year. Prior to the event, CM had planted 24 ministries in foreign federal capitols.
These comments are among those made at the training conference:
“Week by week, as you minister to state political leaders and help them grow in their faith, keep in mind that you may be ministering to a future president of the United States.”
“Public policy is going to be decided by someone. As Christians we are commanded to be in the public arena defending God’s Word.”
“Never in the history of the world has there been such a time for Christians to be bold. Hostile forces are trying to push Christians out of the public sphere. Never before has it been more important for us to stand up in boldness for the truth.”
“Revival is sweeping Central America.”
“The Caribbean is poised at this time to lead many nations to Christ.”
“My country had a belief for many years that the Church should stay out of the state and the state should stay out of the church. How wonderful it is to find that Capitol Ministries is a place where they intersect.
“First century missionaries did not have television, radio, or the printing press but these men turned the world upside down. The biblical strategy of evangelizing leaders first is the most efficient way of fulfilling the Great Commission.”
“We need evangelists in the political arena. You cannot expect someone who rejects the Author of Scripture to accept the precepts of His book.”
“Capitol Ministries is changing hearts to change nations.”
“We aren’t in government capitols to change laws. Like all people, these men and women need the Lord and it does not matter if the state is blue or if it is red.”
“You are giving Public Servants the truth that gives them the courage to fight. The Word of God does the work, we just have to bring it.”
