Sonny Perdue will be Keynote Speaker at Capitol Ministries February Dinner
Former Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue, who grew up plowing fields on his father’s farm and rose to be one of the most respected leaders in United States government, is the keynote speaker at the Capitol Ministries Dinner next month.
Proceeds will be used to further Capitol Ministries’ mission to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to political leaders around the world.
The dinner that invites “Cowboy Business Attire,” is scheduled for 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13 in the VIP Event Tent at The World Ag Expo in Tulare, CA.
Tickets, tables, and sponsorships are still available at www.capmindinner.com for the event, which is hosted by Rob Hilarides, owner of Hilarides Dairies, and Capitol Ministries board member.
Guests will enjoy the music of Lincoln Brewster, an American contemporary Christian musician and worship pastor who grew up in the Central Valley of California.
A guitarist, singer, and songwriter, Brewster is known for inspiring faith music including, “Today is The Day,” “God You Reign,” and “The Power of Your Name,” which have climbed Christian radio charts.
Named “Public Official of the Year” in 2010 by Governing Magazine, Perdue is known for keeping close track of the taxpayer’s dollar. His commitment to government accountability and fiscal responsibility have been shaped by a life of hard work and government service.
Perdue grew up feeding calves and plowing fields on his father’s dairy and crop farm in Bonaire, Georgia. He achieved the rank of Captain in the U.S. Air Force, earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia, and worked in private practice as a veterinarian before beginning a career in public service.
He served as a Georgia state Senator from 1990-2001 when he stepped down to run for Governor, a position he held from 2003-2011. Perdue became known for fiscal responsibility. As a newly-elected governor, he set budgetary priorities and cut wasteful spending which helped stimulate the economy and turn the state budget deficit that he inherited into a surplus.
Dinner speakers will also include Michele Bachmann, former Congressman, former presidential candidate, and Capitol Ministries Board Member; and Ralph Drollinger, President and Founder of Capitol Ministries.
Bachmann served as an attorney for the U.S. Treasury Department, as a Minnesota State Senator, and as a U.S. Representative for Minnesota’s 6th district before running for president of the United States in 2016. She and her husband, Marcus Bachmann, a clinical psychologist, have five children and have been foster parents to more than 20 children.
Drollinger, along with his wife Danielle, founded Capitol Ministries in 1996 with a mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ in the political arena of the world.
Under his leadership, CM has established ministries in 43 state capitols and in 24 foreign federal capitols. Drollinger leads three separate weekly Bible study ministries in Washington, D.C. to U.S. White House Cabinet Members, Senators, and Representatives.
Capitol Ministries has also recently launched CivicReach®, a partnership with churches to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to local city and county commissioners across America.
Capitol Ministries hopes to pack the VIP Tent with supporters who will enjoy a great evening as they support the mission of taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the leaders of the world.
