Bible Studies translated to reach foreign leaders
Political leaders in nations where French, Spanish, and Russian are spoken will now be able to read in their own languages the Members Bible studies that are taught weekly to U.S. Senators and Representatives in our nation’s Capitol on the Hill.
This week Capitol Ministries (CM) rolled out the new feature on its website. Under the Bible Studies tab visitors will find: Estudios Bíblicos en Español, (Bible Studies in Spanish); Études bibliques en français (Bible Studies in French); and Библейские уроки на русском языке (Bible studies in Russian)!
“We have been working with our partners in foreign federal Capitols to accomplish this long-time objective so that our Ministry Leaders in other countries may provide translated studies that Public Servants may read in their own languages,” said Ralph Drollinger, President and Founder of Capitol Ministries who teaches the Members Bible studies to House and Senate Members in Washington, D.C.
This is an important tool that will help Capitol Ministries achieve the goal it has had from its inception: to make disciples of Jesus Christ in political arenas in the United States and around the world. It is impossible to make disciples without in-depth Bible teaching.
To date, some 24 discipleship ministries have been planted in Eastern Europe, Central and South America, and French- and English-speaking African countries.
Capitol Ministries has a goal to plant 200 ministries in 200 foreign federal Capitols.
One who has praised this effort is Pastor Raymond Koffi of Cameroun, Africa, who is a CM Ministry Leader and the co-host of The Christian Broadcasting Network’s (CBN’s) “Le Club 700” television show, the French equivalent of “The 700 Club.”
Pastor Koffi, who is in the process of establishing a formal Bible Study for Public Servants in the Federal Capital of Cameroun, said the French translations will be an important tool in his ministry.
“What Capitol Ministries offers is much more serious and deep, so I will have something of substance to approach the members of Parliament with,” he said. “I will be able to teach in the French language and this will create an interest among the members of Parliament. We will be able to talk about the life of Christ and the Christian walk of faith.”
As Capitol Ministries continues to expand in other foreign nations, additional translations will be offered in the languages of those countries.
The Capitol Ministries team is also working to develop a feature that will enable CM Ministry Leaders to construct their own Bible studies from the hundreds of existing studies that Drollinger has written over the past 20 years.
The feature will offer Bible studies, quotes from and profiles of Public Servants and Ministry Leaders, as well as a collection of historical quotes from U.S. Founding fathers, from which Ministry Leaders may pick and choose to build their customized studies.
These new tools will greatly aid Ministry Leaders in their work of making disciples of Jesus Christ in the political arenas.
We are requesting that supporters pray for the quick implementation of these new features, and that the translated Bible studies and custom-built Bible studies will be used to minister to Christian Public Servants throughout the world.
