Call to Prayer: Training Caribbean Men to Reach Government Officials
The National Palace is a building in Santo Domingo, that houses the offices of the executive branch of the Dominican Republic.
As the Capitol Ministries team holds its Caribbean Training Conference in Santo Domingo, the capital city of the Dominican Republic, from July 1st to July 5th, 2025, we ask you to pray with us.
Alberty Reyes has been serving as Capitol Ministries’ Caribbean Global Director since January 2024, leveraging his strong regional connections and network across most of the Caribbean’s 24 island nations. In this role, he has been actively recruiting and equipping ministry leaders to launch discipleship Bible studies for political leaders throughout the region.
“It is a joy to witness how these men are being trained to be disciple-makers in the public square. My passion is to see political leaders in the Caribbean come to Christ. Because of their influence, their transformation can lead many others to the Gospel,” Alberty shares.
A native of the Dominican Republic, Alberty draws inspiration from his country’s flag, the only national flag with a Bible open to John 8:32 Y la verdad nos hara libre—[You will know the truth,] and the truth will make you free.
“Imagine if public servants truly lived out this principle—how much change and healing would be possible,” he says.
Capitol Ministries Founder and President Ralph Drollinger underscores the significance of the Caribbean Training Conference, pointing to the Great Commission as the driving force behind this effort.
“Jesus mandated us to Go … and make disciples of all the nations,” Drollinger said. “The Caribbean consists of 24 island nations and territories, each needing the discipleship ministry at the highest level of political realm. This training helps fulfill that mandate by sending equipped laborers into the political harvest field.”
Please pray for the conference, for God’s leading, for safe travels, and that the hearts of participants would be ignited to teach God’s Word to the political leaders of the Caribbean.
