CM Launches New Ministry to Local Civic Leaders
This is an exceptionally exciting week for Capitol Ministries.
We are privileged and extremely blessed that CivicReach®, our new ministry to local Public Servants, launches in the city where our discipleship ministries began — Sacramento, California — and that this is happening as we begin celebrating our 20th Anniversary!
“What an exhilarating way to kick off our 20th year of ministry!” said Ralph Drollinger, President and Founder of Capitol Ministries.
“We are launching our first CivicReach® training to teach Bible teachers how to create and sustain vital, evangelistic discipleship ministries to city and county leaders in their neighborhoods.
“How fitting and poignant to be giving this training in the very place that we established our first state ministry to Assemblymen, Senators and Constitutional Officers — Sacramento!
Through CivicReach®, Capitol Ministries will partner with lay leaders and pastors in local churches to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the elected leaders who serve in the neighborhoods of America.
There are 33,000 city and county governments in the United States and few of them have outposts for Christ, even though that is where most state and national leaders begin their careers.
Planting ministries to city and county government leaders has been an objective since the Drollingers established Capitol Ministries in 1996.
But with a mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ in the political arena of the world, efforts concentrated on establishing ministries in state Capitols across the United States.
In 20 years Capitol Ministries has planted discipleship ministries in more than 40 state Capitols; two ministries in our nation’s Capitol for U.S. Senators and Representatives; and ministries in 24 federal Capitols in foreign nations on four continents.
“The aim of this week’s training is to birth dozens of ministries in cities in the greater Sacramento area. Once established and successful, these ministries will provide models for others like them in cities across the United States,” said Mike Shreve, California CivicReach® Leader and Ministry Leader to the Sacramento, CA Legislature.
“The way to turn a nation around is by reaching our leaders for Christ one heart at a time,” Shreve said. “That has always been the vital work of Capitol Ministries, and now we are taking the Gospel to Public Servants in the local governments of America where many of our national leaders begin their careers.”
Capitol Ministries asks our friends, partners and donors to join us in praying that CivicReach® launches successfully and that from the training, many ministries will be established in the Sacramento area.
