Dr. Ben Carson to Ministry Leaders: Attacks for being Faithful to God’s Word are “Nothing” Compared to Eternity
Dr. Ben Carson, Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, spoke to CapMin Ministry Leaders recently about why believers should be uncompromising on moral issues that are made clear in the Bible.
During a panel session at Capitol Ministries’ International Training Conference in Washington, D.C. in December, Dr. Carson was asked a question by a former member of Parliament who sponsored a Capitol Ministries discipleship Bible study in his European nation.
“For more than 30 years, I have been involved in battles when I take a stand on moral issues faithful to the Word of God. These are very powerful battles. When you are criticized, how do you fight these fights and keep integrity and succeed?” the former parliamentarian asked.
Ben Carson responded: “Transphobic” is my own new term first used just for me because I did not compromise on what the Bible says.
“We need to recognize that we are not in control, that God is in control. He tells us what is required of us in His Word and the results are up to Him.
“I expect to be attacked. I know I will be attacked, because Jesus said if you do this and follow me you will be persecuted.
“If you want everyone to love you, maybe you don’t take a stand, but if you do that, are you really doing what God has called you to do?
“What we experience here, the attacks and the battles, they’re nothing against the backdrop of eternity.”
Dr. Carson attends the weekly Capitol Ministries White House Cabinet Bible study and sponsors the D.C. Bible studies led by Ralph Drollinger, President and Founder of Capitol Ministries.
