Launching Bible Studies to City and County Leaders Continues to Set Afire the Hearts of America’s Pastors
The biblical directive to make disciples of political leaders first is continuing to catch fire in the hearts of America’s pastors as they learn about this often-overlooked concept from CapMin ministry leaders this fall.
“This was a new idea for most of the pastors we spoke with,” said Brent Loveless, (Arizona ministry leader) who participated in the three-day Lancaster, California, Spiritual Leadership Conference last weekend with Frank Cuozzo (Hawaii ministry leader).
“Several dozen pastors were excited to learn about leading Bible studies to government leaders and they signed up for more information about how to join with CapMin.”
An added surprise was that some pastors from foreign nations also attended the conference and expressed an interest in establishing a Bible teaching ministry to their country’s national political leaders. Some of those nations are openly hostile to Christianity.
The Spiritual Leadership Conference was hosted by the Lancaster Baptist Church and West Coast Baptist College.
CapMin began sending teams to pastor conferences in the spring to explain our Local Government Ministries (LGM) initiative and those efforts are continuing this fall.
In all, we will participate in 40 conferences and will reach some 20,000 pastors. The objective is to partner with churches as well individual pastors, retired pastors, Sunday school teachers, and retired businessmen to launch discipleship Bible-study based ministries to city and county political leaders in their communities.
CapMin provides the Bible studies, training, ongoing support, all at no cost. Our objective is to help fulfill the Great Commission most effectively and efficiently by employing the biblical methodology of reaching political leaders first, a concept that is found in both the Old and New Testaments.
In Lancaster, Pastors Brent and Frank manned the CapMin booth and met with church leaders, explained CapMin’s mission and distributed Bible studies that were specifically written for political leaders. They also gave away about 40 copies of All in Authority: Reigniting the Bible’s Top-Down Missions Strategy, a book written by Ralph Drollinger, CapMin President and Founder, that provides the biblical exegesis for reaching political leaders “protos,” a Greek word that means “first in priority.”
The response was tremendous. Among those interested in partnering with us was a pastor from Colorado who had already been ministering to and praying with county leaders. He had not thought about teaching God’s Word to political leaders until he spoke with Pastor Brent.
“The concept was entirely new to him, and he is considering joining with us to disciple those people he is already ministering to,” Pastor Brent said. “He had never considered offering a Bible study in a government building and was excited about the idea of launching one.”
Pastors at the conference were directed to our website to view a pre-recorded video of Ralph explaining the need for LGM Bible teachers and the biblical exegesis for reaching political leaders with God’s Word.
Pastor Frank said he was encouraged by the number of pastors who learned about CapMin for the first time.
“Most of these pastors had never heard of CapMin, but they were super excited to learn of our mission,” Pastor Frank said.
“I am so grateful for the opportunity that Brent and I had to introduce CapMin to so many pastors and to see their excitement in knowing that such a ministry exists in these perilous times we are living in and especially that they can be a part of it!”
Those who expressed an interest in joining with CapMin will receive the information they requested and if they apply to be a ministry leader, they will be vetted under the supervision of Dr. Dan DeShong, CapMin’s LGM Global Director. Before launching a ministry, the men must successfully complete the required CapMin training.
This fall, CapMin teams will continue to participate in pastor conferences, including the Christian broadcasting giant, Salem Media Group’s Pastor Appreciation Days as well as Southern Baptist and Independent Baptist Convention’s state and national meetings.
CapMin is the primary national sponsor of Salem Media Group’s 19 PADs that they are hosting in association with their owned and operated local radio station affiliates.
