On behalf of our most recent Capitol Ministries Training Class, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

God has blessed our ministry abundantly this past year. Emblematic of that are these men who look to launch five new ministries in as many state capitols. I am excited to report that another 7 state capitol ministry launches lie right behind!

In addition, God has opened the doors this past year for the beginning stages of many local churches adopting city and county governments for evangelism and discipleship ministries — all to make known the Son of God!

We praise Him for entering the world, and our lives! And we thank Him for the blessing you are to us!

I am grateful that Capitol Ministries has a worldwide mission. This nation, the United States, was meant to be a light to the world. When William Penn came to Pennsylvania and was granted this land, one of his objectives was to bring his religious beliefs to what would become the United States of America. His vision was to be that shining city on the hill. We need to expand that light to the rest of the world. I’m excited to have the Word of God being taught in an unapologetic way inside the Pennsylvania Capitol. I am grateful to be a part of Capitol Ministries and its worldwide mission.

As CapMin’s Director of Local Government Ministries, I am seeking qualified candidates to establish weekly Bible studies to city and county elected and appointed public servants across the United States. I also led the first LGM Bible study to city and county commissioners in the greater Sacramento, CA area. I taught the curriculum, Oaks in Office: Biblical Essays for Political Leaders, which contains the most pertinent Bible studies Ralph Drollinger, President and Founder of Capitol Ministries, has authored to meet the spiritual, personal, and professional needs of Christian legislators over his more than 25 year ministry. Our Sacramento group is still meeting to study the Bible and we are studying Oaks in Office a second time.

The experience was exhilarating to say the least! None of us had any idea that the Bible had so much to say about immigration, parenting, racism, deficit spending, and other contemporary issues. One elected official had planned to leave politics and now he says, “No wonder God has me in this position!“

As Christians, we sort of take biblical precepts and doctrines for granted, but when the issues are broken out in specific chapters like Ralph has done in Oaks in Office, they become very clear and very real.

This first group was pretty excited about this study and will be sharing their story with city and county commissioners around the country. Who knows where God will take this?

Ministries to local government public servants have been planted in California, Texas, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Oregon, Idaho, Missouri, Ohio, and in dozens of provinces and territories in European nations.
