Ministry Leader Dr. Cheyne Day Shepherding Legislators of Arkansas

“I consider it an honor to teach an in-depth exploration of the Word of God with our legislators,” proclaims Dr. Cheyne Day, who has been faithfully leading weekly Capitol Ministries Bible studies at the Little Rock Capitol since 2023.
A theologian and pastor with a genuine heart for public servants, Dr. Day is deeply committed to helping lawmakers engage Scripture not merely as information, but as transformation. His greatest reward, he explains, is witnessing the fruit of God’s Word at work in their lives. “I rejoice when I see them take ownership of applying Scripture to their personal lives and their role in government.”
The impact of this ministry is clearly felt by those who attend Bible Study. Arkansas State Representative Ryan Rose (48th District) shares:
“The magnitude of this ministry is undeniable. Pastor Day opens up the Word of God, teaching us deep, biblically sound doctrine while at the same time encouraging us in our personal lives and praying for us and our families. Sometimes we’re having a bad day, maybe even a bad week, but then we meet up with Cheyne, who is full of joy, and it just spills over on us. We are encouraged and blessed by this ministry.”
Dr. Day holds a Doctorate of Ministry in Evangelism and Missions from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. His commitment to shepherding elected officials extends beyond the Capitol calendar. When the legislature is out of session, his vision is to remain spiritually present in their lives.
“When legislators return to their home districts, my desire is to reach them where they live and serve,” says Dr. Day speaking of plans for 2026. “I want to gather them for times of Bible study and discipleship—to help them spiritually fortify the homefront, strengthening their walk with Christ, their families, and their calling as public servants.”
Through faithful exposition of God’s Word and consistent discipleship, Capitol Ministries is bearing lasting fruit in the lives of Arkansas legislators—shaping both their personal faith and public service.
