Our New Bible Study Look!
January 2015
Capitol Ministries has unveiled an elegant, newly-designed, four-color Bible study format to showcase the exegetically-based weekly studies that are prepared specifically to teach the Scriptures to Congressmen and Senators in Washington DC.
The new colorful layout displays the Bible studies that address from a biblical perspective, important, timely, and current issues that Public Servants grapple with. The studies are prepared by Ralph Drollinger, President and Founder of Capitol Ministries. Recent ones include Solomon’s Advice on the Deficit, The Remedy for Racism, and Critical: Sound Doctrine when Ministering to Public Servants.
The Bible studies are written with critical analysis, investigating biblical texts within their contexts in order to discover their original meaning. The word exegesis comes from the Greek word exēgeisthai, which means “to lead out of.”
Every study contains sidebar stories about other ministry efforts on the local government level, in state governments, as well as international ministries that have been started in other nations. It also includes feature stories on Public Servants and their Christian walk as they work to serve God and the people through their government service.
“We are finding that folks want to study what the leaders are studying that week in D.C.,” said Drollinger. The studies are available for download on Capitol Ministries Website: www.capmin.org.
In addition to individuals using the studies, Capitol Ministries expects wide distribution through its new ministry: CivicReach™, in which Ministry Leaders offer Bible studies to Public Servants in city and county governments.CivicReach™ Ministry Leaders will be able to download, print in color, distribute, and use for local Public Servants the very Bible studies that are designed for their counterparts in Congress.
“It will be exciting to see what God does with this ‘weekly reader’ of ours!” Drollinger said.
