Through “God of the Impossible” European Ministries Have Quickly Gone from None to 20 Nations!
Only a few years ago, no one in Europe had heard of Capitol Ministries. This is especially true for the political public servants for whom our discipleship Bible studies are built.
Not only that, but Evangelical leaders were skeptical when CapMin European Global Directors Slavik Rymskyi, a volunteer, and Valeriu Ghiletchi approached them in 2021 with a vision of biblically solid, in-depth Bible studies delivered to national political leaders every week in European capitols.
“A few Members of Parliament told us openly that in Europe CapMin is not an achievable objective,” said Rymskyi. “Yet, we serve the God of the impossible.”
Rymskyi and Pastor Ghiletchi, himself a former parliamentarian, have many friends and acquaintances among Europe’s political leaders and those in the Christian community. Under their leadership and efforts, contacts grew across the continent.
In meetings, phone calls, and conversations, the men explained the mission of Capitol Ministries—to make disciples of Jesus Christ in the political arena throughout the world. They offered the theology behind it, to reach political leaders first in order of priority (1 Timothy 2:1-4).
Most importantly, European leaders learned that the Bible studies would not be “owned” by an American ministry. Rather, CapMin would partner with them in the Gospel to political leaders, and would offer successful ministry methods that were developed over nearly 30 years’ experience in ministering to public servants.
The results were extraordinary. Today, Capitol Ministries has trained and credentialed Ministry Leaders to establish and lead discipleship Bible-study ministries to national leaders in 20 European countries.
Many of these men are already leading weekly Bible studies to parliamentarians, while others are in the process of building relationships with lawmakers and laying the foundation for strong future launches in federal capitols.
CapMin has established an important ministry outpost in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and European Parliament. Participants in those European studies have responded with gratitude and enthusiasm, saying, “This was great!” “This study has expanded my worldview on so many issues!” “I am looking forward to our next study. This spiritual food really nourishes my heart and spirit!”
Perhaps a reason the Bible studies have been so well received in Europe is because of CapMin’s mission to work with leaders in other nations. In selecting Global Directors, CapMin’s policy is to choose men who live in the region so they may be in charge of growing the ministry in their corner of the world; all Ministry Leaders are natives of the countries in which they serve.
The Global Directors for Europe, for example, are from Moldova (Pastor Ghiletchi) and Ukraine (Rymskyi). CapMin’s 15 Global Directors well understand the context of their areas and are able to apply different methods to achieve results while respecting cultural differences.
Europe and America are intricately connected when it comes to the Christian faith. European settlers brought the Gospel to America during its founding, and now, America is reigniting the fire for the Gospel in Europe.
Our goal is not to build a CapMin brand in Europe, but rather to disciple politicians in European capitals.
