CapMin To Launch First Ever Nationwide Governors Bible Study
Capitol Ministries, which five years ago founded the first Bible study to White House Cabinet members and senior staff in 200 years, is preparing to launch the first ever nationwide in-depth Bible study for America’s governors.
Ralph and Danielle Drollinger, founders of CapMin, will participate in the Republican Governors Association (RGA) meetings in Orlando, Florida November 13-15 where the new weekly Zoom Governors Bible Study will be announced.
“Technology is such that this is now possible,” said Ralph, president of Capitol Ministries. “Danielle and I have been laying the groundwork for this new ministry launch for the past year.”
The weekly Bible study will be led on the internet so governors from around the United States may easily participate from wherever they are on Wednesday mornings. The new Bible study is scheduled to begin after inaugurations are complete in 2023. Governors from all political parties are welcome.
For several years, Ralph has led separate Bible studies every week to U.S. senators and representatives on the Hill in Washington, D.C. and another to former White House Cabinet and senior staff members which meets remotely via Zoom.
The Governors Bible Study will follow the same comprehensive and in-depth Bible study format utilizing a 4-color printed Bible study that Drollinger creates for that week.
Printed copies of that week’s same Bible studies are available to the general population at capmin.org/biblestudies. An audio copy is also available on the website.
An exegetical teacher, Ralph teaches the Bible book by book, verse by verse. Exegetical teaching is the critical explanation or interpretation of Scripture. It involves discovering the original and intended meanings of Scripture by providing a careful analysis of passages, examining the historical and cultural context, and explaining the original Greek and Hebrew words to clarify the author’s intended meaning. All of CapMin’s Bible studies worldwide are non-denominational and focus on discovering the authorial intent of each book of the Bible before application is made to the life of a public servant.
With this method, completing the teaching of one book of the Bible may take a year or more.
As the Bible directs, Ralph teaches the whole purpose of God (Acts 20:27) and does not avoid unpopular topics.
Response to the new Bible study has been strong.
“During our travels, we have been meeting with individual governors throughout the nation in anticipation of this first ever new ministry and the response has been encouraging! No Governor whom we’ve spoken with has said “No.”
“In addition to the spiritual growth purposes the ministry is designed to achieve in each participating governor, these connections afford these leaders the opportunity to regularly fellowship with one another,” Drollinger said.
“That is super important—in that former governors are invited to participate and can pass their wisdom along to their colleagues. All that makes for a much better government!”
“The weekly gathering via an internet Bible study will afford not only individual governors edification, but also help to achieve unification and national symbolization.”
Governors at the RGA meetings will learn about CapMin’s new Bible study from one of their own – former Texas Governor Rick Perry will spearhead this ministry and announce the launch to the gathering.
Governor Perry also served as secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy from 2017 to 2019 and participates in the weekly CapMin Bible study for former White House Cabinet members that Ralph leads on Zoom.
In addition to the weekly study, CapMin will host and teach an in-person Governors Bible Study every quarter at each RGA meeting location throughout the year. Those studies will be sponsored by CapMin, not RGA.
A long-term CapMin goal is to reach every public servant for Christ at every level of government every year in the United States and in foreign nations.
Capitol Ministries has established Bible-study based discipleship ministries to legislators in 43 U.S. states and to regional and national leaders in more than 40 nations.
Separate studies were launched in 2010 for members of the U.S. House of Representatives, in 2015 to members of the U.S. Senate, in 2017 for White House Cabinet members, and in 2020 for White House senior staff.
Ministries to local city and county leaders were established in communities in 10 U.S. states and in numerous foreign nations.
Capitol Ministries requests that our prayer partners and supporters be praying on November 13-15 for this endeavor and for the RGA meetings in Orlando.
