Strategic Visit Strengthens Capitol Ministries’ Outreach in the Northeast

New opportunities for legislative Bible studies are taking shape across the northeastern United States as Capitol Ministries continues investing in relationships with lawmakers and Ministry Leaders. During a recent ministry tour of Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, North America Director Randy Covington encouraged existing ministries and helped prepare the way for new and revitalized Bible studies that will bring God’s Word to elected officials.
In Delaware, Dr. Covington met with State Ministry Leader Morris Webster to observe the ongoing Bible study ministry at the State Capitol in Dover.
“Morris Webster’s energy and dedication are truly remarkable. He is a well-known figure in Delaware’s Legislative Hall and serves with boldness and conviction,” shared Randy Covington.

During the visit, the team spent time with legislators, observed House and Senate sessions, and met with House Minority Leader and Representative Timothy Dukes, who welcomed the group to his office and expressed encouragement over Capitol Ministries’ outreach around the world.
An exciting development also emerged in Pennsylvania, where preparations are underway to relaunch Capitol Ministries’ legislative Bible study in Harrisburg.
“Senator Cris Dush is what we call an ‘insider’ in CapMin. He is a great man of God who loves the Lord and takes every opportunity to speak about his faith and biblical truth. We are blessed to have his support,” said Randy Covington.

Senator Dush has graciously reserved a conference room adjacent to his office where the weekly Bible study will meet. Two recently trained Capitol Ministries leaders, Bob Thompson and Rob Shelton, have agreed to serve together in leading the ministry, combining experience with fresh enthusiasm as they prepare for the relaunch.
In New Jersey, Dr. Covington met with State Ministry Leader Dominick Cuozzo to discuss opportunities for expanding outreach among state lawmakers. While the unique structure of New Jersey’s legislature presents challenges, discussions focused on identifying a suitable meeting location and strengthening partnerships that will help establish a regular legislative Bible study. Pastor Cuozzo’s years of public service as a former mayor, combined with his pastoral ministry, have uniquely positioned him to share God’s Word with elected officials.
Although the northeastern states present unique ministry challenges, Dr. Covington returned encouraged by the dedication of Capitol Ministries leaders and legislative partners serving throughout the region.
“I was really encouraged by the men I connected with—our State Ministry Leaders, legislators, and Local Government Ministry leaders. These men are doing an amazing job and have developed some outstanding relationships.” he said.
Please pray that God will produce lasting fruit as faithful laborers and strategic partnerships lay a strong foundation for biblical influence among elected officials.
