Setting the Record Straight
Capitol Ministries Terminates Affiliation With Tennessee State Ministry Leader
Effectively immediately, Capitol Ministries has terminated its affiliation with Scott Buss who had served as Ministry Leader to Members of the Tennessee State Legislature.
The decision was made after a review of Mr. Buss’ online social media political postings revealed comments that were disrespectful, disparaging, or contemptuous of others.
Such statements are not in keeping with the teachings of God’s Word and Jesus Christ whom Capitol Ministries serves.
The statements are also in violation of a number of Capitol Ministries policies for Ministry Leaders which Mr. Buss was taught at the Capitol Ministries training he attended.
Capitol Ministries embraces freedom of speech and believes, as God teaches, that followers of Jesus Christ should show respect for others in all discourse, including those with whom we do not agree.
First Corinthians 13:1-3 says, If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.
Capitol Ministries does not engage in political activism; the mission of Capitol Ministries is Bible teaching and making disciples of Jesus Christ in the political arena.
