A New Ministry to New Hampshire Public Servants
November 2014
Take one church that wants to reach Public Servants for Christ but isn’t sure how, connect them with Capitol Ministries which has a winning game plan to do just that, and through their friendship, you have a ministry to New Hampshire state Public Servants.
That’s what happened when Peter Chamberland, pastor of the Granite State Baptist Church in Concord, NH met Ralph Drollinger, President and Founder of Capitol Ministries.
“Our church had a burden to minister to Public Servants, but I didn’t know a possibility like that would even exist,” said Pastor Chamberland.
But it has for 18 years. Over that time, Capitol Ministries has established more than 50 ministries in US state capitols and foreign nations and in Washington D.C., where Drollinger teaches the weekly Members Bible Study to Congressmen — soon to include Senators.
Earlier this year Drollinger introduced Pastor Chamberland to Rep. Warren Groen, R-NH, who wanted to host the Bible study in the New Hampshire State House, and a ministry was begun.
Pastor Chamberland said the training was ‘tremendous’ at the Annual Ministry Leader Training Conference held Nov 4-8 in Palm Desert, CA, that he and Rep. Groen both attended. The independent ministry is set to begin in January.
“This is church involvement in our capitol,” Pastor Chamberland said. “Our church is going to be involved. If we have a meal or a breakfast, it will be the ladies of our church who will be cooking and serving.”
The Granite State Baptist Church was established by Pastor Chamberland and his wife, Crystal, who, for 15 years, served as prison missionaries with Rock of Ages Ministries in Cleveland, Tennessee. On Nov. 23, the church will celebrate its one year anniversary.
“I have asked the church to pray on a daily basis that God would open these doors and change our state,” Pastor Chamberland said. “I believe the king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord. And as the rivers of water, he turns it wherever he will.”
“The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will. —Proverbs 21:1
