“Biblical Citizen: Let’s Roll!” Radio Hosts Feature Our Matt Goodsell and Introduce Listeners to CapMin
Matt Goodsell, CapMin’s global director for North America was recently featured on “Biblical Citizen: Let’s Roll!” a San Diego, CA-based radio program that seeks to motivate Christian listeners to get involved and turn America back to God.
The Saturday morning program is hosted by Brian and Kathleen Melonakos and features a different guest every week. The talk-show format offers discussions on current events from a biblical worldview with the objectives of educating and activating Christians at the grassroots level and equipping them to fulfill their responsibility to influence government and civic affairs for good.
“It has never been more evident…that spiritual wars are manifesting in the governmental arena and throughout our culture. History has clearly shown that Christ is required to overcome the natural tendency of powerful forces to destroy God-given rights, including the right to hear and speak His truth,” the program description reads.
The program, which is broadcast on Salem-affiliate KPRZ AM/FM (K-Praise), was aired at noon on Dec. 21.
In introducing Pastor Goodsell, host Brian said that while we have much to be thankful for, moral deterioration is seen at all levels from sophisticated internet scammers to high-level political corruption among global elites in our nation and around the world.
“These are the results of moving away from our Christian moorings,” Brian said. “The question is, can our people and leaders turn again back to Christ? We think so. There is a ministry that brings the gospel directly to our elected leaders in states, D.C., and other nations. It’s called Capitol Ministries and they are dedicated to making make disciples of Jesus Christ in the political arena throughout the world.”
Pastor Matt explained that CapMin’s Bible-teaching evangelists are evangelizing, discipling, and teaching the Bible to political leaders every week at all levels from mayors to state legislators and national leaders in the U.S. and around the world.
He said the ministry is growing tremendously, “thanks to CapMin president and founder Ralph Drollinger and Danielle, his wife and ministry partner who have pioneered this ministry worldwide. Their ministry is to U.S. Congressmen in Washington D.C.”
“The growth and impact I’ve seen since I have been associated with Capitol Ministries is nothing short of miraculous,” Pastor Matt said.
“I praise the Lord that He led Ralph to see what he termed ‘the missing mandate in modern missions,’ that is, the church ceasing to take the Gospel to kings and those in authority anymore.”
While some pastors are teaching from the pulpits of America’s churches that believers should avoid politics because it is evil, other churches are lobbying Congress for better laws.
But neither plan works because when no believers serve in office, Christians are not able to influence laws and policies. “And you cannot expect the person who denies the existence of God to adhere to the precepts of His book,” Pastor Matt said.
“I say stop dwelling on the past for you can’t change it, but you reignite the flame of the missionary heart to reach political leaders once again! And God is doing that and people are financially supporting that effort, and that is necessary as well,” he said.
Co-host Kathleen, who is also an author and retired registered nurse, noted that a guiding verse for CapMin is Acts 9:15 which specifically mentions reaching gentile kings for God in Paul’s commission.
But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of Mine, to bear My name before the Gentiles and kings and the sons of Israel.”
“Our mission is to be disciple makers in the political arena, and it’s working!” Pastor Matt said. “I believe God’s hand is upon this ministry!
“Capitol Ministries has established ministries in more than 60 nations, in 43 U.S. states, and to U.S. senators and representatives in Washington D.C. Today, there is also the first ever, Governors Zoom Bible Study held every week with 12 Governor sponsors. Additionally, the study that was established in 2020 for members of the White House Cabinet continue to study the Bible every week with Ralph via Zoom.
“We teach a high protein diet of the Word of God in our Bible studies that are always permeated by Holy Script. Further, we are always the evangelist, and sometimes we wear the pastor’s hat.
“At our recent training conference in D.C. I met some of the senators, representatives, and former White House Cabinet Members who talked about the immense influence CapMin has had and what a true blessing the Bible study with Ralph was to all of them.”
“And let me tell you who we are not,” Pastor Matt said. “We do not advocate for legislation and we do not endorse any candidates for office. We are a non-partisan, non-denominational gospel-centered ministry sent to the “basilios” that is, kings, by definition, to reach all those in authority at various levels, from mayors to presidents, with the gospel.”
As global director for North America, Pastor Matt is one of 15 global directors who are responsible for growing the ministry in their geographic area of the world.
Kathleen encouraged listeners to become involved with CapMin.
“We have discussed today how Capitol Ministries is leading Bible studies and discipleship training with political leaders nationally, locally, and globally.
“Thanks so much Matt for the interview and all the righteous work you do worldwide for Capitol Ministries. Listeners, please consider donating and/or volunteering for this God-honoring ministry. Go to capmin.org. Until next week, biblical citizens, let’s roll!”
