CapMin D.C. Ministries to America’s Political Leaders Thrive as “More and More Christ-like Believers Elected to Office!”
Ralph Drollinger delivered some good news to Christians in America recently in an interview with Don Kroah, the award-winning host of one of the longest-running local talk shows in the Washington, D.C. market.
“More and more, strong believers who are mature in the Faith and are Christ-like are being elected to Congress,” Ralph said.
“And they’re replacing a lot of older folks that really didn’t have a tethering to Scripture whatsoever, even though they might name the name of Christ. And so, we’re excited about the D.C. ministry and we’re seeing that occur in each election cycle that we’ve been here teaching God’s Word over the past 13 years.”
Drollinger made his comments in answer to Don’s question, “Take us on the Hill if you would, because I know from what I’ve been watching and reading through the years, God has been doing some incredible things among our political leaders.”
“What can you tell our listeners about this ministry and what it does on a day-to-day basis with our political leaders, many of whom we’ll never meet, but we sure feel the influence of their lives.”
Ralph explained that he has been leading Capitol Ministries Bible studies on the Hill in D.C. to Congressmen since 2010. He teaches a strong conservative, theological, exegetical Bible Study among 35 House members and 13 senators. Those separate studies meet every week. His written, weekly, four-color, 8-page Bible study notes are distributed to another 150 members who request them.
In January, Capitol Ministries launched an additional weekly Zoom study for America’s former and sitting governors which now has 11 sponsors. That study was combined with the Bible study Ralph established in 2017 to members of the White House Cabinet and Senior Staff that has continued to meet every week remotely after the leaders left office.
In addition, in the past 26 years since CapMin was founded, intentional, deliberate, biblically reliant, disciple makers have created sustaining ministries in 43 U.S. state Capitols and 44 foreign federal Capitols.
“And so, we’re really blessed of God to see what He’s doing among the political affinity sphere of the world in terms of having a biblically grounded approach to reach them,” Ralph said.
“And let me attempt to give a more theologically informed answer to what we’ve been talking about, Don.
Think about this, follow me on this. If God’s main desire is to present a perfect bride to His Son for going to the cross, (the bride, biblically, being the church), and if it’s incumbent upon Him to perfect the saints in the church for that reason, we know from Ephesians 4:11 that the way He does that is to give some as pastor/teachers for the equipping of the saints.”
Evangelists and pastor-teachers are God’s tools, His means and method of perfecting the bride of Christ.
“Then does it not follow that if you create outposts for Christ in capitols (like churches in a given community), God will use those capitol outposts (if they’re faithful to His Word), to perfect His called-out ones in order to present a spotless a bride as a gift to His Son?”
It follows that if God finds faithful outposts in given locations He will bring His called-out ones (cf. Ephesians 1; John 15:16) to those outposts to achieve His ultimate perfecting purposes with them.
“And so, as we’ve been deliberate about faithfully teaching the Word of God to Senate members and House members, former White House Cabinet members, and now governors.”
Ralph was explaining that CapMin is like a spiritual magnet being used of God for His bigger purposes!
CapMin believes, given the above theological construct, that God will continue to bring more and more of His called-out ones to those outposts in order to mature them in Christ, Ralph told Don.
That is the theological sound reasoning as to why we believe we’re seeing God bring more and more mature believers into office in DC! He’s found a faithful outpost there! All praise be unto God! He’s using us to mature the saints for His Son.
Ralph explained that discipling lawmakers to maturity in the faith stands in stark contrast to efforts of the Religious Right which has, for more than 50 years, attempted to change the mission of the church into a political lobbying agency to change laws and morality.
The background story is that there is a bigger theological problem with that unsound “lobbying” method. Ralph has often said, “You can’t expect someone who rejects the author of Scripture to ever accept the precepts of His book!”
For 50 years, the Religious Right movement method of changing culture by changing laws has proved ineffective. It has not worked, and the deterioration of our nation has only gotten worse.
By contrast, it may be that more Christians are being elected to national office because God is honoring the biblical top-down missions strategy: lead political leaders to the truth, teach them the Word of God, and disciple them to maturity in the faith. It is time to change methods and CapMin is the leading proponent of that centuries old biblically-based method!
“We’re really blessed to see what God’s doing amongst the political affinity sphere of the world in terms of having a right theological approach to ministry in D.C.,” Ralph told Don.
“We’re seeing more and more believers being elected to office in each election cycle since we’ve been here with our passion to teaching God’s Word.”
The reason this is happening could very well be because God is honoring the methodology He established in the Bible. This methodology – to disciple Political leaders first – is found in both the Old and the New Testaments.
Don responded, “That is an exciting thing to hear, folks. Their website is CapMin.org.”
Don is also senior pastor of Plymouth Haven Baptist Church in Alexandria, Virginia. The Don Kroah Show is aired 4-6 p.m. Monday through Friday on WAVA in the Washington, D.C. market and challenges listeners, “Let’s get informed and then let’s get involved, find positive, life affirming ways to make a difference!”
