Caribbean Momentum: Expanding the Reach of Capitol Ministries

When many think of the Caribbean, they picture turquoise waters and white-sand beaches. Yet beyond its beauty lies a diverse and complex region of more than 30 nations—each shaped by distinct political systems, languages, and historical influences. What makes the Caribbean unique is not only its geography, but its blend of Commonwealth nations, French territories, Dutch dependencies, Spanish-speaking republics, and U.S.-affiliated islands. This diversity presents challenges—but also remarkable strategic opportunities for ministry.
It is in this dynamic region that the Lord is steadily opening doors for Capitol Ministries under the leadership of Alberty Reyes, Capitol Ministries Director for the Caribbean. A native of the Dominican Republic, Alberty has laid significant groundwork across the region and recently presented an encouraging report during the CapMin Worldwide Zoom Gathering.
Dominican Republic: Preparing for Launch
In the Dominican Republic, momentum is building toward a formal launch planned for September 2026—designated as the Month of the Bible. Following a regional CapMin training conference in 2025, key relationships were strengthened with senior government leaders, including the president of the Senate and the head of Congress.
In one private meeting, a senior official openly expressed his desire to defend the unborn but admitted he lacked biblical resources. After receiving a translated CapMin Bible study addressing what Scripture teaches about life in the womb, meaningful dialogue followed. Such moments underscore the importance of providing consistent, exegetical Bible teaching to lawmakers.
Local ministry leaders Mauro Vargas and Jose Ramon Rodriguez continue cultivating relationships with congressional leaders, mayors, and national religious affairs officials. The groundwork has been laid; we now pray for a strong and enduring launch.

Belize: Strategic Access Through Prayer Leadership
In Belize, Scott Stirm is building strategic bridges through national prayer initiatives and a pastors’ network of more than 125 leaders. His involvement in religious affairs gatherings has provided direct access to civic authorities, including the mayor.
Plans are underway for a formal launch later this year. As Belize approaches its national independence celebrations, leaders are discerning the most strategic timing to introduce the Bible Study ministry within government circles.
The Bahamas: A Potential Insider
In The Bahamas, Gadville Mcdonald has ministered faithfully among parliamentary and senate leaders. In a significant development, leaders from across the political spectrum have encouraged him to run for office. After prayerful consideration, he agreed.
If elected, this would provide Capitol Ministries with a uniquely positioned insider—one who understands and supports the mission from within. Regardless of the outcome, another trusted leader is being prepared to ensure continuity and stability.
New Doors Across the Region
In Antigua, Joseph Williams is leveraging his involvement in national religious affairs to cultivate relationships with civic leaders. In Anguilla, Lucian McDonough is using his academic platform and recent publication on marriage to engage political officials with biblical truth.
On the island of Saint Martin—governed jointly by French and Dutch authorities—Hilton Albert and Ivan Valerie are working diligently to expand the ministry’s presence. A formal launch there, supported by international partnership, could significantly increase visibility and participation.
Alberty is also engaging regional evangelical networks to broaden awareness of Capitol Ministries’ mission. A planned Caribbean pastors’ gathering later this year may further accelerate expansion.
“The Caribbean is not merely a collection of islands—it is a strategic region where biblical truth can shape national leadership. As ministries take root across diverse political systems, we are witnessing the steady advancement of discipleship among public servants,” Alberty summarized.
We thank the Lord for what He is doing and invite you to join us in prayer as these efforts continue to unfold.
