Oklahoma Legislators Thankful for Cheyne Day’s Teaching on Beatitudes

“When Capitol Ministries asked if I would be interested in sponsoring a Bible study to members of the Vermont Legislature, I said, ‘Oh yes. We need this. We are thirsty souls in a very dry land.’

“It is because of the influence of the Capitol Ministries Bible study that I had a certain boldness to share the Lord. I had confidence and the desire to say, ‘I can do this,’ instead of hunkering down and hiding. It has given me a lot of courage in my personal witness and boldness.

“The Bible study gives encouragement to those legislators who come and offers us fellowship which we would not otherwise have in that building. We are standing together as Christians with a Christian world view and we recognize that we are serving the Lord in the work we are doing. We would feel very alone and isolated otherwise.

“The Capitol Ministries Bible study builds our strength, our faith, and our courage, even the courage to vote the way we do on prolife issues and other matters. It gives us the boldness to stand for what we believe and not feel overwhelmed.”

Rep. Strong is the sponsor of and participates in the Bible study Pastor Rosaire Bisson began leading to the Vermont Legislature in 2019.

A few weeks ago, members of our Hillsboro Bible study began discussing when life begins. To teach them the biblical perspective, I gave the members copies of “God’s View of Babies Inside and Outside the Womb” which was written by Ralph Drollinger, President and Founder of Capitol Ministries who leads Bible studies to U.S. senators and representatives every week on the Hill in Washington, D.C. Among many Scriptures quoted in the study was Psalm 139:13: For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb.

This verse points out that God is at work in the formation of the baby inside the womb, thus, life begins at the point of conception.

The next week one of the members of the Bible study reported that a voter had called to ask his position on this issue.

The candidate was equipped to share confidently his prolife stance as a result of the Bible study materials and our discussion.

Capitol Ministries Bible studies are helping upcoming leaders learn the Word of God in a way that brings out its applicability to our modern lives.

I am continuingly impressed by the applicability of God’s Word to our present time.
