Ralph Drollinger, President and Founder of Capitol Ministries, and twelve of the ministry’s fifteen Global Directors met at the annual Global Directors Gathering in California last week to plan for the ministry’s continued growth and share reports on fruit from the labors of CapMin Ministry Leaders around the world who report to them.
Men traveled from as far away as Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean for the five-day event, while others attended via Zoom.
The group gathered to plan, evaluate proposals to accommodate consecutive years of growth, hammer out policies and procedures, report on progress in their areas, and set measurable objectives for the coming year, among other business.
And, as Brian Hanson, International Global Director said, “to hear reports of the good things that are going on through Capitol Ministries in the world.”
Drollinger opened the meetings presenting the ministry’s purpose and mission. “Within the Great Commission there exists a capitol commission. We want to reach political leaders. That is what Paul did in the 1st Century.”
The three reasons CapMin exists are, No. 1, applied theology, (it works), No. 2, missional theology (Paul was called to minister to kings and all in authority), and No. 3, historical theology (the Puritans created one of the strongest nations in the world).
Specifically, the missional theology for CapMin’s existence is Acts 9:15, bear My name before the Gentiles and kings and the sons of Israel and 1 Timothy 2:1-4, First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority.
The men reported on advancements in their geographic areas of leadership and how they would build upon their progress in the future. (CapMin desires to place disciplemakers amongst political leaders in every nation of the world.) Among the reports:
Oscar Zamora, Latin America Global Director
Ministries have been established in 7 of the 17 Latin America nations in Oscar’s geographic area. Ministry Leaders have already been trained and certified to begin ministries in 8 other countries, and 5 of those are set to launch this year. Ministries to 2 nations are delayed due to political unrest.
Next year, separate ministries are scheduled to launch in the federal capitals of Chile, Peru, and Bolivia. One newly credentialed Ministry Leader Christian Jara, and the senior pastor of the church he attends, hosted a strategic initiative to prepare the way for respective national capital Bible studies.
Oscar said, “These men organized a ‘Thanksgiving service’ to recognize the work that elected officials do on behalf of the community. For example, a senator and local government officials who attended received plaques from the church in recognition of their labor.” This event helped pave the way for a federal capitol ministry launch next year.
Pastor Steve Flandorp, Ministry Leader for The Republic of South Africa and Africa Global Director
CapMin has ministries in 29 of the 54 Africa nations. Currently, 5 potential recruits are being vetted to build additional ministries. While some nations are not open to Christianity, 41 of the 54 nations are presently “low-hanging fruit,” and ministries in 49 nations are achievable, Pastor Flandorp reported.
Kumar Singh Praja, Ministry Leader for Nepal and Asia Global Director
Capitol Ministries has built a presence in 8 of the 51 Asian nations in Kumar’s geographic area. Six potential Ministry Leader recruits are currently being vetted.
Alberty Reyes, Caribbean Global Director
CapMin has a presence in 4 of the 25 Caribbean countries in Alberty’s geographic area. Ministries are readying to launch in 4 additional nations. Four new Ministry Leaders are currently being vetted.
Slavik Rymskyi, Volunteer Global Director, Europe
Valeriu Ghiletchi, European Union, European Parliament Ministry Leader
Of the 45 nations in Europe, 20 countries have CapMin ministries to national leaders. Five new Ministry Leaders are currently being vetted. One objective in the coming months is to increase the number of weekly Bible-study based ministries to local city and county and provincial office holders in nations across Europe.
Frank Cuozzo, Hawaii Ministry Leader, Assistant Global Director, South Pacific
Capitol Ministries has a presence in 3 of the 17 South Pacific nations. Two potential Ministry Leaders are currently being vetted. In the coming months, Frank expects to establish partnerships with a number of like-minded ministries and organizations with the purpose of networking and growing CapMin in the South Pacific.
Dr. Dan DeShong, Local Government Ministries Global Director
Local Government Ministries (LGM) to city and county office holders have been established in 69 communities in 22 U.S. states. Participants include city council members, county commissioners, school board members, and police chiefs. Recruiting efforts at pastor conferences proved most successful in 2024. So far, 862 newly recruited Ministry Leaders have applied and are in the process of being vetted.
Many other topics were considered at the gathering, including homogenizing procedures to onboard new Ministry Leaders, methodologies for collaborations, conference planning, building additional training sessions, what recruiting methodologies are working, how to fully engage international Ministry Leaders, and the value of hosting a semi-annual Omnibus Training Conference.
“CapMin has experienced several years of consecutive growth by recruiting new, strong-in-Christ Ministry Leaders around the world. The ministry has invested in infrastructure to support that continued growth, and as a result, CapMin can realistically project establishing a dozen new federal capital ministries every year,” Drollinger said.
