Jon Cassel

Assistant Global Director,
International Ministries;
Assistant Global Director, Africa
With a commitment to teaching God’s Word to political leaders and to expanding God’s Kingdom on earth, Jon Cassel has been named to two assistant global director posts to benefit places where his talents, gifts, and abilities are most needed.

Jon has been named assistant global director for international ministries and in that capacity, will be working with Brain Hanson, international global director. Jon has also been named assistant director for Africa, where he will be second in command to Steve Flandorp, Africa global director. Since 2014, Jon has served as global director for Africa and under his leadership, CapMin established ministries to national leaders in 30 nations. The change in position will serve to multiply the places where CapMin may employ Jon’s gifts in administration, planning, and ministry building. Jon is very well networked in Africa where he has been serving international ministries since sensing a call from God to that continent in the 1970s. Jon is from Pennsylvania where he worked on farms and in many capacities in the railroad industry, including engineer, before sensing a call to ministry. Both Pastor Hanson and Pastor Flandorp, who have worked with Jon for years, were enthusiastic about his collaboration. Pastor Flandorp noted that Jon had spent decades working for the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) and as a result is excellently networked and well understands the customs, traditions, and way of life in many African nations. He also speaks fluent French. Pastor Hanson said Jon’s administrative and planning skills will be a great asset to international expansion efforts.

“I praise the Lord for the opportunity to work with Capitol Ministries in these capacities to fulfill this tremendous mission,” Jon said. “I am really looking forward to ministry building in Africa and to building CapMin across the world.”
