New Ministry Development the Focus of Capitol Ministries Annual Training Conference
November 2014
Fifteen new Ministry Leaders have been approved to begin leading Capitol Ministries Bible studies to legislators and other governmental leaders in state capitols around the United States and in three foreign nations.
The men, all seasoned Bible teachers, were commissioned by the Capitol Ministries Board of Directors on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014 at the conclusion of an ambitious and intense four-day training conference at the Morningside Country Club in Palm Desert, California, surrounded by towering palm trees and the splendor of the low desert.
Two new Directors of International Expansion were also named, and two new members were appointed to the Board of Directors.
Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, R-MN, will be joining the Capitol Ministries Board of Directors in January when she leaves office. Also named to the board was Dr. Randy Adams, who, as Northwest Executive Director of The Southern Baptist Convention, is one of 41 state directors for that organization.
The conference was designed to train new Ministry Leaders in effective techniques in many aspects of their ministries, including how to prepare and establish a Bible Study to elected officials, the value of discipleship and relationship building, and the importance of leading Public Servants toward maturity in Christ.
Before being accepted as Ministry Leaders, the Board of Directors requires that all candidates undergo the week of training, which includes completing a 32-page instruction manual that covers topics that range from the biblical mandate for ministry to Public Servants to proper dress in state capitols and financial reporting, among many other topics.
The conference included teaching led by Ralph Drollinger, President and Founder of Capitol Ministries, networking and discussions, presentations by a number of speakers, and an address by US Congressman Trent Franks, R-Arizona, 8th District, who encouraged the Ministry Leaders in their work.
“What you are doing is vitally important,” Congressman Franks said. “Ultimately, if there is anything Capitol Ministries is about, it is about disseminating the Truth to the most influential people in America, and that my friends, is the way to see that Truth is ultimately disseminated to the whole nation.”
We are so excited by the fruit of the conference that for the next seven days we’d like to tell you about a few of the powerful partnerships, ventures and plans that were unveiled so you may see how God is working through Capitol Ministries. They’ll be quick and they’ll be brief! Coming tomorrow: What’s new on the East Coast?
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I command you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
