Ministry Leader candidates from nine states will gather in Seattle, Washington next month to learn how to lead Capitol Ministries discipleship Bible studies to state legislators and constitutional officers.
After the men complete the training, Capitol Ministries will be positioned to launch ministries in Alaska, Colorado, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Wyoming.
While the Capitol Ministries Spring Training Conference is usually well attended, this year an especially sizable number of candidates will be trained, said Perry Gauthier, Capitol Ministries’ North America Director. Most of the candidates will attend the conference with their wives.
“We are so blessed to see what God is doing to reach America’s state capitol political leaders across our nation!” he said.
Ralph Drollinger, President of Capitol Ministries, agreed, adding that the ministry is excited to welcome this group of candidates who are skilled, talented, and committed to reach political leaders with the Word of God.
“We have some remarkable people whom God is calling into our ministry and we are excited to be with them for a few days of training in beautiful Seattle, Washington,” Drollinger said.
Training will include instruction on establishing Bible studies to elected officials, the value of discipleship and relationship building, and the importance of leading Public Servants toward maturity in Christ, among many other topics.
In addition to teaching the Word of God, Ministry Leaders also provide spiritual support, friendship, and pastoral counseling in times of trials, temptations, family struggles, and other difficulties.
“Capitol Ministries’ intensely biblical methodology has been meticulously honed and fire-tested through 23 years of ministry experience in U.S. capitols,” Pastor Gauthier said. The training is indispensable.”
Immediately following the three-day training conference, the North America Local Government Ministries leadership team will meet. That group is devising a methodology to reach local government public servants in America’s 40,000 cities and counties.
The objective is to plant discipleship Bible studies for America’s 500,000 local government leaders across the United States.
“Please be praying over these next several weeks leading up to our conference — specifically that God would continue to develop our State Capitol Ministries and our
Local Government Ministries across our great nation. Our nation is in desperate need of these outposts for Christ,” Drollinger said.
“Seattle represents a major step forward for both of these ministries: Tomorrow’s national leaders largely come from today’s local and state governments. Thanks for your continued partnership with us!”
Capitol Ministries is seeking proven, intentional, deliberate, biblically reliant disciple makers who are passionate about evangelism and about teaching the Word of God.
