Emmanuel Makolo

LGM Director, Africa
From his home country of Kenya, Emmanuel Makolo serves all of Africa as Director of Local Government Ministries (LGM) for Capitol Ministries. As director, Pastor Makolo faithfully serves with a clear goal in mind. “Our bold mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ among every local capital throughout Africa!” he confidently states.

Since high school, he has invested himself into discipleship taking joy in teaching the Bible to others. What started as leading home groups eventually grew into “outreach evangelism trips and preaching from the pulpit.” He has served in many mission fields in various places across the world.

Through his responsibilities, the pastor has striven to make a lasting impact on his Kenyan community. He served as an outreach pastor for Sirikwa Pentecostal Fellowship for a decade. This allowed him to assist in raising missionaries and establishing branch churches. During part of that decade, Pastor Makolo also acted as an administrator for the church, producing the annual calendar, financial reports, and more.

Pastor Makolo has certifications in chaplaincy from Conacce Chaplains International and humanitarian diplomacy from the International College of Peace Studies. He is proficient in both English and Swahili. Pastor Makolo is married to his wife, Faith, and together they are raising a son and two daughters.

His desire to evangelize and share God’s Word has only grown since youth, especially desiring to disciple “unreached people groups.” This has included those living in “the bush,” referring to the tribal people living throughout Africa, but it also includes his ministry to political leaders.

Partnering with Capitol Ministries, Pastor Makolo seeks to build a ministry among officials in his own neighborhood. “Africa is the richest continent yet the poorest. This is due to poor leadership,” he shares. “The Word of God is the only way that human hearts can be softened and changed.” While he performs the groundwork, Pastor Makolo recognizes that God is the one who changes the hearts of man.

As LGM Director, he is tasked with recruiting ministry leaders and local public servants with the intention of having weekly discipleship Bible studies. “It is a wonderful opportunity to disciple political leaders who make the laws that govern countries,” he shares.
