Cheyne Day
State Director, ArkansasCommitting the problem to prayer, Pastor Day felt led by the Lord to build an on-line ministry where he leads Bible studies for legislators. The strategy proved a successful solution to government restrictions that prevented face-to-face meetings inside the Arkansas State Capitol in 2020.
Pastor Day assumed the responsibility for the Arkansas ministry in addition to the Bible study he leads to members of the Oklahoma State Legislature. He has roots in those next-door neighbor states. Several years ago, he moved his family to Arkansas from Oklahoma so his wife, Misty, would be closer to cancer treatments. Much improved, Misty, now serves as her husband’s ministry partner, employing her considerable gifts in hospitality and administration.
The son of the highly regarded OK pastor, Dr. R. Alan Day, and named after the great Scottish Bible teacher Robert Murray M’Cheyne, Pastor Day grew up steeped in the importance of evangelism. With a heart to minister to public servants, Pastor Day joins Capitol Ministries in fulfilling the Great Commission through the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ in the political area.
“The purpose of authentic Christian ministry has not changed in nearly 2,000 years,” Pastor Day said. “It is to make disciples of Jesus Christ, and that is my goal with our ministry to state legislators in Arkansas and Oklahoma.”
