For many years I have attended the Capitol Ministries Bible study on the Hill for U.S. Senators and have greatly benefitted from them. Because Capitol Ministries Bible studies delve deeply in Scripture, we learn God’s precepts and what He expects of us as Christian public servants. Serious Bible studies not only benefit we public servants, but through our work in policy and legislation, they benefit society as well. I heartily support these same in-depth Bible studies for local government leaders. Through these studies, God’s Word is preparing the hearts of the future leaders of our nation.

A few weeks ago, members of our Hillsboro Bible study began discussing when life begins. To teach them the biblical perspective, I gave the members copies of “God’s View of Babies Inside and Outside the Womb” which was written by Ralph Drollinger, President and Founder of Capitol Ministries who leads Bible studies to U.S. senators and representatives every week on the Hill in Washington, D.C. Among many Scriptures quoted in the study was Psalm 139:13: For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb.

This verse points out that God is at work in the formation of the baby inside the womb, thus, life begins at the point of conception.

The next week one of the members of the Bible study reported that a voter had called to ask his position on this issue.

The candidate was equipped to share confidently his prolife stance as a result of the Bible study materials and our discussion.

Capitol Ministries Bible studies are helping upcoming leaders learn the Word of God in a way that brings out its applicability to our modern lives.

I am continuingly impressed by the applicability of God’s Word to our present time.
