Sri Lanka Leadership

John Paul

Ministry Leader
Since joining Capitol Ministries, John Paul has served as Ministry Leader of Sri Lanka where he leads Bible studies for national public servants.

John is an accountant by trade. He obtained a master’s in business administration from the University of Wolverhampton. In 2007, he was married, and his wife also serves in a leadership capacity with a Christian evangelical organization. Together, they have a daughter and a clear mission to serve the Lord.

With his financial expertise and a heart for serving God’s kingdom, John has worked with Christian organizations such as Samaritan’s Purse, Habitat for Humanity, and Christian Vision. He also advises churches on strategic growth. This includes options such as digital evangelism, bringing God’s Word to modern devices. The result is improved accessibility for residents who may otherwise not be exposed to the faith or would like to engage with the faith more.

John’s penchant for helping others grow is part of the reason he joined CapMin “My primary focus is on teaching, engaging in spiritual warfare, and equipping local churches and their leaders,” he explains. “In addition, I work to influence national political leaders through advocacy, bringing Christian values to bear in decision-making and policy development.”

If you asked John about his motive for ministering to political leaders, the answer is simple. “I believe in the power of the Gospel to transform lives,” he says. “Our focus is on bringing the Gospel to different segments of society, including those in the political arena—an area that is often neglected or approached with reluctance when it comes to evangelism and discipleship.”

The more he reaches out, the more disciples he can make. And in-depth Bible studies are the obvious way to accomplish this goal. “By grounding leaders in God’s Word, it can shape their decisions, promote integrity, and encourage policies that reflect justice and compassion,” he explains. “This, in turn, can lead to positive changes that benefit the entire nation and strengthen the moral and spiritual fabric of our society.”

Through Scripture, he grounds public servants in truth and helps them develop godly wisdom, which goes beyond human understanding. Ultimately, he wants to help men and women better mirror the character of Christ, and in turn better serve their Creator. As they do, in the face of peace or adversity, whether a citizen or public servant, Sri Lankans will know how to lead a life centered on God.
