Santa Bahadur Praja
Local Government Ministry LeaderSince joining Capitol Ministries in 2023, Pastor Praja has faithfully served as a province leader for the municipalities of Gandaki, Pokhara, and Nepal’s capital city, Kathmandu. From political leader to ministry leader, he has consistently sought to encourage and inform other politicians of their need for Christ. Through meaningful discipleship and Bible studies, he connects them with the Word of God.
Pastor Praja sees a connection between creating godly policies and in-depth Bible study “because then they understand that Jesus is the true Master, Leader, and will rule forever.”
As Scripture reveals, leading well means leading like Christ. While the fruit of his labor have been evident in the Parliament House, God’s transformative power was working in Pastor Praja’s life long before his involvement with Capitol Ministries. When he isn’t diligently teaching the Bible to and praying with public servants, he spends his time in the company of family. The pastor married the love of his life, Surja Praja, in November of 2001. Since then, God has blessed their big family with 4 daughters, and 2 sons, all of whom he is teaching to lead godly lives.
Pastor Praja got his start in politics back in 1991 when he became a member of his ward village. A few years later, he dedicated his life to Christ, was baptised, and committed to sharing the Good News with others. Praja’s faith and political career took off simultaneously. He became the ward village’s president, then just last year, the Central Chairman of the Nepal Democracies’ Chepang Association.
After becoming the pastor of Dhirang Church in 1997, he passionately served his congregation for 18 strong years, from 2000 to 2018. The ministry was so successful, Pastor Praja helped plant a branch church in Nayabasti, five hours away.
He’s also given training sessions at various churches and headed a leadership seminary. In preparation to share the Gospel, Praja completed about a year’s worth of Christian leadership training, a month of discipleship training, and two weeks of Bible training.
As of today, Pastor Praja makes clear for all who ask, why he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. His experience as a politician helps him to communicate and make application of God’s Word to for his friends in Parliament. Capitol Ministries is but the next step in this pastor’s faithful service for God’s kingdom, as he impacts Nepal on the local and provincial levels.
Will you join us in supporting Pastor Praja as he evangelizes and disciples public servants?
