Mike Tindall

State Ministry Leader, Washington
CapMin’s Ministry Leader for the state of Washington, Mike Tindall believes that “where solid Bible truth is presented, the Spirit of God will accomplish His purposes for an individual's life, as well as in a community's culture.” That’s one reason Pastor Tindall diligently serves the state of Washington from its capital, Olympia by ministering to public servants on the state level.

He brings to this role a doctorate in theology and a depth of pastoral experience. He entered the vocational ministry in 1978 and has pastored churches in both Texas and Washington State. After retirement from pulpit ministry, his service did not end. Instead, he went on to become a full-time hospital chaplain, and later, a full-time hospice chaplain. Pastor Tindall has also spoken in homes and prisons, at weekend conferences, in churches and workplaces. His words have reached the ears and hearts of children, youth, adults, the infirmed, and the dying.

While serving God and others, Pastor Tindall married the love of his life, Joanie, in 1980. They have been blessed with three sons and four grandchildren.

A desire to faithfully serve is what led the pastor to his current partnership with Capitol Ministries. “Capitol Ministries has been a pioneer mission ministry to the largely neglected political leadership of our communities,” he recounts. “They are making a Gospel impact in the world, and I am pleased to be a part of that impact in Washington State.”

Following COVID and the 2020 lockdowns, the ministry had dwindled. With persistence and trust that God would clear the path, Pastor Tindall began reaching out to lawmakers. He had no insider sponsors or local assistance, yet he worked faithfully to build meaningful relationships with political leaders. He established a network of more than 30 senators, representatives, and legislative assistants who receive the Bible Studies via email.

In addition, two evangelistic outreaches have already been completed this year, reaching every single legislator and legislative assistant. These tireless efforts have already yielded significant fruit, and an excellent venue has now been secured for in-person Bible Studies beginning in January.

“Bible studies that are specifically geared to address the many challenges and pitfalls that face political leaders are invaluable to helping them become the Sprit-empowered lawmakers that God raised them up to be,” he says.

Pastor Tindall is looking forward to what the Lord will do next as the year closes out, and a new year arrives. He remains determined to influence public servants with the Word of God so that it is evident not only as they fulfill their calling in the Capitol, but also as they return home. When God changes us, He changes the totality of our character.

“Bible truths dispel error and evil, as light dispels darkness. Communities thrive under the leadership of godly individuals living a life of integrity and wisdom based upon clearly understood Biblical principles,” Tindall professes.

His prayer for the ministry is this, “That the light of Gospel truth will increasingly push back the spiritual darkness in our state, its leaders and its culture so that our people live in the freedom of forgiveness and with the peace and joy of a heart made right with a holy and loving Savior.”
