Rob Sheldon

Rob’s faith began early. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at eight years old and was baptized soon afterward in a farm pond near his Pennsylvania home. Through the influence of a faithful local church, he developed a love for Scripture and a desire to serve God. During his college years, the Lord deepened that commitment and eventually directed him toward vocational ministry.

Over more than two decades of ministry, Rob has served as a pastor, church consultant, leadership developer, and theological educator. He currently serves as Lead Pastor of Greencastle Baptist Church and as a Church Advancement Consultant with the Baptist Resource Network, helping to strengthen pastors and churches throughout Pennsylvania. His ministry has also included training pastors internationally and mentoring ministry leaders.

Rob holds a Bachelor of Religious Education, a Master of Divinity, and a Doctor of Ministry. He brings 25 years of Bible teaching experience through expository preaching, discipleship, and leadership development.

Rob is not new to ministry at the Pennsylvania State Capitol. Before joining Capitol Ministries, his involvement with the Capitol Clergy Prayer Team and other opportunities brought him to Harrisburg to pray for and alongside public servants. Those experiences deepened his desire to establish an ongoing ministry among Pennsylvania’s state leaders—one centered on relationships, discipleship, and consistent, in-depth Bible teaching.

“At my core, I’m a pastor,” Rob explains. “It isn’t about politics. It’s about making disciples. Public servants face unique pressures and responsibilities, and they need faithful biblical shepherding just like anyone else.”

Rob and his wife, Sarah, have been married since 2002 and have two adult children, Faith and David. As Pennsylvania’s State Ministry Leader, Rob’s prayer is to remain faithful to Christ, shepherd with humility and love, and help political leaders become mature disciples who follow Jesus and influence others for His glory.
