New England Ministries – A Vision Realized
Three years ago, Ralph and Danielle Drollinger sensed the Holy Spirit leading them to birth ministries in the state Capitols of New England.
“So off we went, not knowing any believers or having any contacts in that area of the country,” said Drollinger, President and Founder of Capitol Ministries.
Since that time, Capitol Ministries has launched a half dozen discipleship ministries in the Northeast, and last week Drollinger hosted the first Northeast regional meeting of Ministry Leaders to Legislators and Constitutional Officers in those six states.
“It is amazing the quality of men the Lord has raised up in such a relatively short period of time,” Drollinger said.
“It is so exciting to host the conference in Boston this week with so many of our New England Ministry Leaders present.”
Attending the meeting were:
Dr. Peter Chamberland, Ministry Leader to the New Hampshire State Legislature
Dale Walker, Ministry Leader to the New York State Legislature
Chris DiGiacomo, Ministry Leader to the Massachusetts State Legislature
Keith Lawrence, Ministry Leader to the Maine State Legislature
New Hampshire State Rep. Warren Groen, sponsor of the New Hampshire Bible study
Fenton Groen, Warren’s brother and former New Hampshire State Senator who will become involved in the New Hampshire ministry in 2017
Perry Gauthier, Ministry Leader to the Nebraska Legislature and Capitol Ministries North America Affinity Sphere Director
Not in attendance were:
Joel Tate, Ministry Leader to the Vermont State Legislature
Merrill Thomas, Ministry Leader to the Rhode Island State Legislature
“We still have a way to go however,” Drollinger said. “We are looking for opportunities to plant a new ministry in Connecticut and are praying God will raise up His man for the job.”
The expansion is part of Capitol Ministries ongoing efforts to plant discipleship ministries to political leaders in local government office, in all U.S. state Capitols as well as those in foreign federal Capitols.
Dr. Chamberland said Capitol Ministries’ mission to make disciples of political leaders throughout the world is what attracted him and the Granite State Baptist Church where he serves as senior pastor to the ministry.
“When I attended the Capitol Ministries training in 2014, Ralph said we are not here to build a ministry empire in America, we are here to cast a vision,” Dr. Chamberland said. “We are excited to be a part of Capitol Ministries and show what a church is supposed to be doing.”
“The most exciting recent development is what is happening in Maine,” Drollinger said. “God is raising up Keith Lawrence to lead the charge there in Augusta, and as he shared at our conference, the Lord is raising up three other men who are all connected to the Capitol to team in the birthing of this new work.”
“We are praising God for all that is happening in the New England State Capitols in these past three years — and we ask you to prayerfully remember to pray for all of these relatively young ministries.”
