Alberty Reyes
Global Director, CaribbeanAlberty’s calling to serve political leaders began over a decade ago, when he attended a leadership conference and heard testimonies from the president of Honduras and two mayors. “Listening to their stories, God ignited a spark in my heart to reach public servants with His Word,” he recalls.
As a native of the Dominican Republic, Alberty highlights his country’s flag, the only national flag with a Bible open to John 8:32: “Y la verdad nos hara libre”—“You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
“Many politicians in D.R. know the quote,” he says, “but corruption, deceitfulness, and lying are still deeply rooted in our culture. Imagine if public servants truly lived out this principle—how much change and healing would be possible. If every nation embraced God’s truth, we would see His kingdom come on Earth as it is in heaven.”
Since stepping into his role, Alberty has already recruited four ministry leaders for discipleship Bible studies in key Caribbean nations. His efforts are supported by strong regional connections, having built a wide network across most of the Caribbean’s 24 island nations.
Alberty was introduced to Capitol Ministries through Oscar Zamora, CapMin’s Latin America Global Director, with whom he previously served at the Willow Creek Global Leadership Summit. He brings a wealth of experience, including a background in evangelism, youth and adult ministry leadership, and six years of regular preaching at Iglesia Comunitaria Cristiana.
Fluent in English and Spanish, Alberty holds degrees in software engineering (2006) and public speaking (2010). He is currently pursuing a law degree in the Dominican Republic, where his father serves as a Supreme Court judge. From 2004 to 2006, he also completed an internship in evangelism and service production at Willow Creek Community Church in Chicago.
Alberty and his wife, Dr. Ingrid Mendez, live in the Dominican Republic with their two children, Daila (13) and Isaac (10).
“I have always had a heart for the non-believer,” Alberty says. “My passion is to see political leaders in the Caribbean come to Christ. Because of their influence, their transformation can lead many others to the Gospel. My deep desire is to see nations changed through a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.”
