John Shean
Local Government Ministry LeaderJohn applied to be a Local Government Ministries (LGM) leader after reading a Capitol Ministries recruitment advertisement for in World magazine. He was accepted, successfully completed the required training, and was certified to begin his ministry. John’s interest in politics and good government began when he was a child. While other children were reading the sports section of the hometown newspaper, Jon was reading the front page. As a teenager, he served as a volunteer in the 1972 presidential election. In 2000, he ran for Indiana state representative, and later served as a county party chairman. John is a member of Northland Cathedral. He and Cheryl have been married since 1981. The couple has a married son and two grandchildren.
John made a decision for Christ in 1989. “I have been trying to serve him ever since,” John said. He saw the CapMin advertisement after he retired from law and moved to Kansas City. “I expected a new chapter of service in my life.”
“Now that I have a team of faithful prayer partners in place, I’m excited to see how the Lord uses me to reach local elected officials with the truth of HIs Word. Capitol Ministries seems to be one of those good works which God prepared in advance for me to do. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them (Ephesians 2:10).”
